Charity Of the Month | Break
This month we’re shining some light on the wonderful work of East Anglian-based charity, Break. This regionally focused charity believes that every child deserves a bright future, no matter their start in life or the cards they have been dealt.
About Break
Break supports children and young people in a variety of ways. From funding children’s homes to assisting with fostering or short breaks for carers. The charity is keen to show that there’s no limit to what you can achieve if you’re given the right tools and support.
Whether that support comes in the form of therapeutic services, respite breaks, providing a resilient home or supporting parents, the charity is committed to supporting these young people through whatever life has in store. Alongside this, a lifelong offer means the charity is there whenever and wherever they’re needed and doesn’t stop at a particular age or milestone.
The charity engages in a range of fundraising activities for supporters of all ages to enjoy including the Grand Norwich Duck Race and its well-known trails, returning to Norwich for 2025 with Go Go Safari. These trails bring together artists, sponsors, schools, and communities to create a magnificent trail of sculptures across the city and into the rest of Norfolk. Families and individuals can then “collect” each of the sculptures to learn more about the charity and the local area, culminating in an auction of the artist’s work at the end of the year to raise even more funds.
Why Did We Choose to Support Break?
Break provides a vital service to young people in Norfolk and the rest of East Anglia. By supporting them, we can be confident that young people in our region are closer to getting the support they need, whether that is more foster services, breaks or assistance into the world of employment.
